COURSE OVERVIEW: PolyRMC hosts a semi-annual GPC Academy in collaboration with Polymer Standards and Services, Waters Corporation, and Testa Analytical at its facilities in New Orleans, LA. Attendees will learn the background and practice of GPC (also refereed to as Size Exclusion Chromatography, SEC) as well as the latest methods, including multi-dectection using light scattering and viscosity, and associated analyses. This intensive The 3-day course offers an in-depth overview of GPC characterization, brief introduction to novel characterization techniques and methods, and a focus on individual attendee applications. New techniques, technologies and alternatives to GPC for polymer characterization will also be presented. There will be a 2-day overview of methods and techniques followed by a 1-day hands on component. This intensive course is for much more in-depth and hands on training than a typical one hour webinar. The course is hosted by a non-profit, academic research Center at Tulane University, with participation from private vendors, which ensures a deeper focus on content and education over any one specific product or brand. Throughout the course, attendees are taught by world GPC experts and regularly receive one on one Q&A opportunities to discuss specific applications with the instructors. This course is ideal for quality control personnel, R&D and analytical departments, process engineers, technicians, etc.
While this course is hosted in conjunction with industrial partners, the content is general and is not tied to any specific hardware or software vendor. This is a particular point of pride in our educational, university-based course. Attendees have access to 5-7 different instructors throughout the course and are able to go over their results, specific applications, challenges, etc. throughout the 3-day session. This is one of the most appreciated features of the 125+ attendees that have participated in the course over the years.

BACKGROUND AND PRACTICE SECTION: Two days of instruction on a variety of theoretical and technical topics, GPC demonstrations, Q&A, and other characterization scenarios.
HANDS ON SECTION: Various GPC lab modules with the PolyRMC team including use of PolyRMC GPC systems, and data analysis and interpretation exercises. Each participant will have access to a laptop with GPC software for data analysis and interpretation. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions specific to their applications for this section.
Participants will have the use of a PolyRMC laptop during the seminar, will be given a USB flash drive with all of the course slides, and will be served breakfast, lunch, and snacks for each day.
