When to Look for Off-Campus Housing

All Tulane first and second year students are required to live in a residence hall on campus. After you've completed your second year, you may look for other housing options.
For graduate, international and professional students, because your admission comes at various times, we understand that you are going to be looking for housing on a rolling basis.

Start Your Search in March/April

In a typical lease, tenants have up to 30 days before their current lease expires to notify the landlord of their intent to stay for another year or not. Since you are probably looking for a lease that starts in May/June, most property managers don't know if their property will be available until March/April – 30 days before May/June.
