WELCOME TO THE WAVE

Your kick off to Fall Welcome on Move-In night after your first floor meeting, you'll come together with your classmates, Resident Advisors, and Orientation Coordinators for this pep rally that will introduce you to the Tulane community values as you hear from current student leaders and administrators on campus. We'll even teach you a few Tulane cheers!


President’s Convocation

One of the most enduring Tulane ceremonies taking place each year during Fall Welcome is the President's Convocation for new students. This year, the Class of 2021 will be welcomed into the Tulane community with an address from the University President. Following a meeting with their Orientation Coordinators, new students will proceed to the auditorium together. The event will be broadcast live to various locations around campus for parents and other guests to watch as the new class is inducted.


PLAYFAIR, YELL FOR YULMAN, & Reily Rocks

Your first Saturday night on campus will have you meeting your classmates in large group icebreakers, touring Yulman Stadium and taking the Class of 2021 photo, and hanging out after hours in the Reily Student Recreation Center. Enjoy free food, live music, sports, and fitness demonstrations. There will be many opportunities to win free stuff.

Incorporating improvisation, humor, education, and audience interaction, Sex Signals provides a provocative look at dating, sex, and the core issue of consent.  

 

Living Well at TU

Staff from the Division of Student Affairs and student leaders will facilitate discussions to promote well-being and help new students stay safe and healthy in the Tulane community.

 

Where Are My Classes? Campus Tour 

Fall Welcome Orientation Coordinators will guide new students around campus with their class schedules to help them better prepare for their first week of classes on campus.

 

The O Ice Cream Social

Open to all new students, this event is a great way to learn more about the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Office for Gender and Sexual Diversity.

 

Student Activities Expo

Meet the leaders of student government, academic, club sports, special interest, media, multicultural, political, programming and performance, religious, community service, Greek letter and honor society organizations. Don’t wait to get involved on campus.

 

Outreach Tulane (registration required)

Outreach Tulane is a one-day community service event for new and returning students, as well as faculty, staff, and their families. Our University’s oldest and largest annual volunteer event, Outreach Tulane will deploy approximately 1,000 volunteers to work at service projects throughout New Orleans.

 

RiverboatRiverboat Dinner Cruise (advance registration and fee required)

Celebrate the end of the first week of classes by sailing down the Mississippi on an authentic New Orleans riverboat. There will be plenty of music, New Orleans food and fun during this unique Tulane tradition! Don’t miss this great chance to catch up with the friends you’ve made during the first week of classes. The $60 fee includes transportation to and from the boat dock, a buffet dinner and cruise. Register online at tulane.it/riverboatcruise. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable! 

 

First Football Game

Come cheer on the Tulane Green Wave at our first home game in Yulman Stadium. Admission is free with your Tulane student ID card.
