On Wednesday evening Professor Vicki Mayer of the Communications Department and Mike Griffith of TS presented a Digital Trends session about their MediaNOLA project. MediaNOLA is a wiki and GIS based environment through which students are taught the principles of researching, composing and writing the community history of New Orleans through their engagement with significant sites of media production around the city.
The project brings together Tulane students and faculty with various community partners through the Tulane Center for Public Service in order to tell the hidden history of these sites. More information can be found at medianola.tulane.edu.
