Posted: 10/08/2012

Over 500 students, faculty and staff enjoyed academic and technical presentations, games and door prizes at the fifth annual Tulane Tech Day held on Friday, September 28.  This year’s event was the biggest Tech Day ever, held across three Tulane campuses.

Big announcements from Technology Services leadership on Tech Day included the formation of a new Network Operations Center, plans to implement Voice Over IP (VoIP) technology for the Tulane campus and new 25 GB Box cloud storage accounts for Tulane faculty and staff. The myTulane upgrade to the newest version of Blackboard Learn was also announced. Attendees got a sneak peek at the newly designed class schedule application for students and updates from Tulane Information Security on the new encryption program and departmental security reviews.

Eli Henson of the Satellite Center and Patrick Burtchaell of NOCCA submitted the winning poster designs for Tulane’s Tech Day poster contest on the theme of Digitizing History. Each student will receive a copy of Adobe Creative Suite Six.  Eli is pictured above showing his winning poster design to David Robinson of Tulane's Faculty Technology Lab and Tom Dent of Adobe systems.
