Thanks in large part to a substantial donation by Board of Administrators member and co-founder of Netscape Jim Clark, Tulane University added wireless connectivity to its uptown, downtown, and satellite campuses.
Tulane's wireless network is a dedicated resource for Tulane students, faculty, and staff. From your wireless setup, connect to the wireless network by selecting ‘eduroam’ and entering your Tulane used id (email@example.com) and password when prompted. Eduroam authentication allows Tulane students access to wireless networks on other participating college campuses as well.
For configuration information for specific devices and operating systems and more information on Eduroam, see our Knowledge Base article here: https://tulane.service-now.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0015259
If you are unable to connect your device to Eduroam, contact the TSNOC at
Uptown: (504) 862-8888 or ext. 8888
Downtown: (504) 988-8888 or ext. 8-8888
or write firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
There is wireless coverage throughout the Uptown and Health Sciences Center campuses. All common areas and classrooms offer Wi-Fi as well as all residence hall rooms and common areas on the Uptown campus. Residence halls on both campuses offer one Ethernet connection for each occupant.
Students are not allowed to use routers to broadcast personal wireless networks. These rogue networks can interfere with the primary wireless network.
