Tulane University announced an official emergency closure that started on Tuesday, August 28 and ended on Friday, August 31.
Employees will be paid as normal for these four days that the University was officially closed due to Hurricane Isaac.
Special circumstances will be handled as follows:
Employees on approved FMLA during the emergency closure will not be charged sick or vacation time. The emergency closure days are counted, however, as part of the allowable 12 full weeks of FMLA.
SCHEDULED, APPROVED VACATION DURING OFFICIAL EMERGENCY CLOSURE
Employees scheduled to be on an approved vacation during the official emergency closure will have their accrual banks charged for those days.
WORKED MISSED ON MONDAY, AUGUST 27
Employees who missed work on Monday before the official emergency closure shall take vacation time for that day. If the employee was sick on Monday before the official emergency closure, he/she shall take sick time.
