In 2015 we will continue to offer a choice of two medical plans: the HRA and the Point of Service (POS). Employees in the HRA plan have an opportunity to reduce their 2015 deductible. There are two easy steps to qualify for the reduced deductible:
If both of these steps are completed, Tulane will contribute $500 toward your $1,500 deductible if you have individual coverage or $1,000 to your $3,000 deductible if you have family coverage (includes Employee + Spouse and Employee + Children tiers). As with the current plan, the HRA funding pays after you satisfy the initial deductible.
This is a change from the current HRA plan, where Tulane funds the HRA without action by employees. In 2015, Tulane will not fund the HRA unless both of these steps are completed.
Regardless of which plan you choose, we will continue to focus on your health and well-being by providing tools and resources to support your goals. Because it is not always easy to get an appointment with your own doctor, Tulane University faculty and staff now have an option and can get fast-access appointments with Tulane doctors through the new Tulane Appointment Desk. The Tulane Appointment Desk will schedule same-day appointments for those with urgent needs and connect others with appointments for primary care within 24 to 48 hours. Appointments can be scheduled via telephone from 9 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday at 988-TUMD (8863) or via email at DoctorsVisit@tulane.edu.
More information about Tulane’s health plans and this fall’s Open Enrollment will be posted on the Workforce Management website beginning this summer.
