Compensation Study

The Compensation Study, which is being conducted by Willis Towers Watson (WTW), and supported by Tulane's Executive Cabinet, has been moving steadily forward since the initial announcement. Behind the scenes, Human Resources Project Team has been compiling scores of data for submission to WTW, which includes job descriptions, organization charts, compensation practices, salary grade data, etc. and many of you provided us with needed information.  Also as the data was being compiled, Compensation Study Focus Groups were conducted on campus.

The Office of Human Resources has listened to Tulane community's concerns regarding compensation and its practices.  These comments have included the following:

  • "Greater clarity and transparency of compensation philosophy as well as pay grades and salary ranges

  • "Increased frequency and effectiveness of education for managers processes and expectations for various compensation activities"

  • "Improved performance evaluation process to accommodate the rewarding of high performers"

We are on target and expect completion of this vital project by mid-Fall.  You can expect to see periodic updates on the Office of Human Resources website. The Compensation Department would like to thank everyone for their understanding and patience during this exciting and worthwhile commitment we have launched.
