Student Employment Eligibility


Undergrad/Grad Students

  • Must be enrolled in the current semester

Doctoral Students

  • Must be enrolled in the current semester, even if working off-site on a dissertation.

Graduating Seniors

  • Graduating seniors may work as students for two pay periods ONLY after graduation (May, August or December).
  • New graduates will then need to be hired as 'staff' through the HCM iRecruitment system. This process will include a background check and attending New Employee Orientation.


Summer Students

  • Must be enrolled in the upcoming Fall semester. 
  • Tulane students may work up to 37.5 hours per week in the summer.
  • Non-Tulane students who will be participating in a Tulane sponsored program will be hired through the 'student' process for summer only.  They must be able to provide documentation of enrollment in the current spring, summer, or upcoming fall semester.
  • High school students will be hired through the same student PAF process.


International Student Employment

  • Tulane admits and enrolls Students from many countries. Student who are neither U.S. Citizens nor permanent Residents of the U.S. and are studying at Tulane under a student visa are considered "international students".
  • Students that have an F-1 or a J-1 visa may not work more than 20 hours per week while school is in session. However, international students are permitted to work full time during official school breaks or vacations, such as summer break.
