OCLC has finalized its agreement with Virginia Tech Intellectual Properties and Atlas Systems to license and distribute ILLiad software, a leading interlibrary loan management tool that automates routine interlibrary loan functions and provides sophisticated tracking statistics to library staff. The software will be licensed and distributed by OCLC under the name OCLC ILLiad Resource Sharing Management Software.
ILLiad is a complete system encompassing a Web-based customer interface, automated borrowing and lending functions, and electronic document delivery in one integrated package. Benefits include library end-users creating and tracking their own ILL requests; ILL staff importing OCLC, RLIN and Docline requests; materials delivered electronically to customers; and real-time statistics from any Web browser.
OCLC, working with Amigos and other OCLC affiliated U.S. regional networks, will be the sole licensor of OCLC ILLiad software. Atlas Systems will continue to develop and support the software.
More information is available at the OCLC ILLiad Web site, http://www.illiad.oclc.org/. Amigos and OCLC will accept orders via fax or mail. An order form is available for downloading via the OCLC ILLiad Website.
