FLSA Update

On November 22, 2016, a U.S. District Court judge issued a preliminary injunction to postpone the implementation of the Department of Labor's (DOL) overtime rule under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) which was intended to become effective on December 1. 

Although the injunction prevents the implementation of the new overtime regulations that were scheduled to take effect on December 1, 2016, however Tulane will move forward with the changes to employee salaries and classifications as planned and previously communicated.

The university will continue to closely monitor legal developments regarding the injunction and the FLSA, and reserves the right to undertake additional changes in compensation, employee classifications and time keeping processes in the future.

Information Sessions

Workforce Management will conduct Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) information sessions to review updates to the Act. Due to seating limitations, registration is required. After registering, registrants will receive an Outlook confirmation of the session scheduled. Click here to find a session that is most convenient for you and to register.

Information sessions may also be scheduled for work groups of 10 or more. If you are interested in scheduling a session for your group, email flsa@tulane.edu.
