Jacob Upperco
Originally from Long Hill Township in northern New Jersey, I am currently a senior and in my final year in pursuit of a BSE in Biomedical Engineering. I have a wide
range of interests including pharmacology, regenerative medicine, and the cellular processes underlying cancer and other diseases. My current research focuses on
monocytes and cell adhesion in the progression of breast cancer, specifically mechanisms of metastasis.
Outside of academia, I like to spend my time staying as active as possible and eating as much good food as possible. I enjoy immersing myself in sports, playing
football and basketball as frequently as possible and watching all things competitive on television. Food and music are a big part of my life and living in
New Orleans ensures that there is no shortage of either!
