The course begins in beautiful colonial Antigua Guatemala. The market in Antigua offers myriad of products and opportunities to practice Kaqchikel.

While in Antigua, classes were held in the newly renovated Colegio Santo Tomas de Aquino. Universidad San Carlos generously donated the classroom space.
Classroom dynamic is highly interactional. Here student learn that the muxux is the center of the universe.
Birthdays provide context for learning chawäch (in front of you) and chawij (in back of you); they are also a good excuse to eat cake.
