Research Opportunities

(for graduate students and undergraduates)

There are currently several positions opening up in my research group in the physics department. The research is made up of a highly interdisciplinary collection of problems centered around studying the molecular biophysics of ion channel proteins in living cells. In my lab there will be opportunities individuals to work in one or more of the following areas:

If you are a graduate student or undergraduate majoring in physics, cell and molecular biology, biomedical engineering, computer science, applied math or a related field and are interested in getting involved in research involving one of more of the above mentioned areas, or are looking for an honors or thesis projects in an exciting "cutting edge" area, perhaps you may be interested in learning more.

Participation in the group can be part-time and voluntary at first, or for credit as part of an independent study course, but paid positions will be available for those that choose to make a serious long-term commitment, including some full-time summer internships. The group is currently funded by the American Heart Association and the Whitaker Foundation.
