Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre

Prior to admission to the Musical Theater Program, students must
audition for Professor Howard. The musical theatre major is an interdisciplinary program consisting of the following courses:

- APMS 109 : Musicianship Laboratory I [1]
- APMS 110: Musicianship Laboratory II [1]
- APMS 217: Musical Theatre Workshop [8]
- APMS 221: Voice Lessons [8]
- APMS 321: Intermediate Lessons [4]
- APMS 423: Advanced Voice Lessons [6]
- MUSC 151: Harmony [3]
- MUSC 152: Advanced Harmony [3]
- MUSC 332: History of American Musical Theatre [3]
- MUSC 245: History of Opera [3]
Students perform junior (30 minute) and senior (60 minute) recitals.
Theatre Courses [7 credits]
- THEA 210: Fundamentals of Acting [3]
- THEA 334: Theatre Production and Design [3]
- THEA 204 or 304: Practicum for THEA 334 [1]
Dance Courses [10 credits]
- choose five courses from the following list: DANC 181, 182, 193, 194, 195, 197, 198, 296, 380, 382, 385, 480, 482, 495 [2 credits each]
