Pro-Parris/Salem Village
Mean Ratios: 1681-1695
The plot of mean ratios is one piece of evidence supporting Salem Possessed's contention of continuous economic decline among Salem Village's witch hunters. The ministry faction was losing ground in the village after 1681, and by 1695, the average tax of pro-Parris petitioners was lower than the average tax of Salem Villager. The difference between the mean and median results might be attributable to the nonuniformity of membership in each tax list.
