Cyrus G. “Jerry” Lohfink

 

 Cyrus G. “Jerry” Lohfink, a Senior Executive, serves as the Acting Director of the National Finance Center (NFC).  In this capacity, Mr. Lohfink serves as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer overseeing the direction of the organization’s programs and managing the Center’s infrastructure.

 Mr. Lohfink has spent more than 25 years in Federal service: 18 years with the NFC and almost  7 years with the Agricultural Research Service (ARS).  Before assuming his current position,

Mr. Lohfink served the NFC as Deputy Director/Chief Operating Officer, Chief of Staff,  Associate Director of Information Resources Management, NFC’s Financial Management Officer, Chief of Financial Information Services, and as a financial and program analyst in a number of positions. 

 Mr. Lohfink has a broad spectrum of experience with systems and customer support.  He has managed various systems development and implementation projects.  Mr. Lohfink has managed customer implementations into automated systems and a customer help desk.  He has served as an instructor on the use of various NFC systems. 

 In his current capacity, Mr. Lohfink provides leadership to NFC’s program development.  He serves as the sponsoring executive for multiple project teams addressing the more significant, new NFC initiatives.  He is also deeply involved in conflict management and resolution issues. 

 Mr. Lohfink graduated from De La Salle High School in New Orleans, LA.  He earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing from the University of New Orleans (UNO).  He continued his formal education by obtaining a certificate in accounting from Tulane University, and has completed several post-graduate study in the area of information technology management.

 Mr. Lohfink, his wife, and three children reside in Slidell, LA.  He remains involved in his community by serving on advisory boards of several schools and social services organizations.  He has been a volunteer with the United Way of Greater New Orleans’ Program Steering Team for many years.

 

Panel # 2: Emerging Technologies

One of Louisiana’s current, strong growth areas is information technology.  Some of the most dramatic local growth has been at the Navy Information Technology Center.  Similar growth is expected at the National Finance Center over the next several years.  The panelists will discuss these success stories and the lessons learned.
