Robert A. Savoie

 

Mr. Robert A. "Bobby" Savoie currently serves as CEO of Science and Engineering Associates, Inc.  (SEA), a $120 million per year technology corporation with four subsidiaries and 12 offices in 10 cities nationwide.  Under Mr. Savoie’s leadership SEA’s revenue has grown 700% in the past five years.

Mr. Savoie previously served as the CEO and founder of Integrated Resources Group, Inc. and most recently, as the General Manager of a 25 company Management and Integration contractor team for the Space and Naval Warfare Information Technology Center in New Orleans. Mr. Savoie also served as a principal consultant to the DOE Office of Nuclear Energy on several programs of national significance including radioisotope production and international nuclear safety.  For the last ten years Mr. Savoie has assisted the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management at the Yucca Mountain Project (high level nuclear waste repository).  He has served or is currently serving in a consulting capacity at the DOE Hanford Facility, the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant, the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory, Argonne National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.  Mr. Savoie has facilitated the resolution of issues ranging from the reengineering of military information systems to medical isotope production and nuclear regulation. In addition to technical consulting services, under Mr. Savoie’s leadership SEA develops advanced technologies for various federal agencies and has one of the leading non-lethal laser programs in the world.

Mr. Savoie has served as a Senior Councilor with the Atlantic Council of the United States.  He is a member of numerous boards and councils including the Louisiana Technology Council, the U.S. Small Business Technology Council, the New Orleans Business Council, the Boy Scouts of America, New Orleans MetroVision, the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Isidore Newman School and the J. Bennett Johnston Science Foundation.  Mr. Savoie holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from L.S.U., an MBA from Loyola University and has completed post-graduate work in Production/Operations Management and Law.  Mr. Savoie has been active in numerous community programs including the Rotary Club, Archbishop's Community Appeal and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He is married to Lori Kent Savoie, formerly of Houston Texas.  The Savoie's reside in Metairie, Louisiana with their three children, Mallory (15), Matthew (13) and William (7).

 

Panel # 2: Emerging Technologies

One of Louisiana’s current, strong growth areas is information technology.  Some of the most dramatic local growth has been at the Navy Information Technology Center.  Similar growth is expected at the National Finance Center over the next several years.  The panelists will discuss these success stories and the lessons learned.
