Mario Rodriguez

Mario Rodriguez joined the team at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport as the Deputy Director for Planning and Development in June 2003. 

As Deputy Director for Planning and Development, Mr. Rodriguez is responsible for the oversight of all planning, construction, and land management activities of the New Orleans Aviation Board (NOAB).  Primary areas of responsibility are: Airport Planning and Land Use Compatibility, Architecture/Engineering, Development/Project Management.  Mr. Rodriguez oversees the Airport’s Sound Insulation and Land Acquisition Programs and all aircraft noise monitoring activity, including the FAR Part 150 Program.  Mr. Rodriguez is responsible for the Airport’s Capital Facilities Program, all in-house construction activity and oversight of the Airport’s Program Management contractor .

Mr. Rodriguez has worked in the private and public sectors of this industry for 15 years.  In those years he has focused his efforts in the planning and development arena.  He has a broad knowledge base in the planning, design, and construction administration of aviation facilities.

In the private sector Mr. Rodriguez has worked for several multi-national consulting firms such as URS, Inc. (formerly Greiner, Inc.) and DMJM, Inc. (formerly Day & Zimmermann, Inc.).  During this period he was associated with the execution of airport master plans, design of airside and landside facilities, and construction administration.  Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach International Airports were among some of the airports that he has served.  In addition, Mr. Rodriguez was active in privatization of transportation infrastructures in South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Prior to coming to Armstrong International, Mr. Rodriguez was tasked with the planning and execution of the Palm Beach County Department of Airports (PBCDOA) Capital Improvements Program (CIP).  The Department operates Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), two large general aviation (GA) airports, and one small training GA airport.
