Glenn N. Bucholtz

Glenn is currently the General Manager at Shell Chemicals LP Geismar Plant in Louisiana. Raised in Alberta, Canada, Glenn attended Royal Roads Military College in Victoria, B.C. and graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1976 with a degree in Chemical (Nuclear) Engineering. After completing his military service, he joined Shell Canada as a Process Engineer in 1980 at the St. Boniface, Manitoba Refinery. With the closure of the refinery in 1983, Glenn transferred to Shell’s Sarnia Refinery, where he held a variety of technical, environmental, and operating positions, before moving to Calgary in 1986 with Shell ‘s Head Office Manufacturing and Supply Planning department. After Head Office, Glenn worked with Shell Canada Resources as Superintendent of Innisfail/Olds Gas Complex before arriving at Scotford in 1990. At Scotford, Glenn held both the Styrene and Refinery Operations manager positions before being named the Chemical Site Manager for Shell Chemicals in 1997.

Glenn moved into the General Manager Geismar position in January 2007. At Geismar, Glenn is responsible for Health, Safety and Environmental performance of the site along with reliability, cost and business performance. Glenn is also responsible for building capability and long term sustainability of the site and developing staff for the global enterprise. He represents Manufacturing with the Higher Olefins Product Business Unit to help develop and execute business strategies that benefit Geismar and the global HODer business.

Glenn and his wife Karen have two grown sons and one grandson. They enjoy an active lifestyle with downhill skiing, golf, tennis, camping, hiking and biking.
