Louisiana Transportation Center – Louisiana’s Access to the World
The underlying concept of the Louisiana Transportation Center (LTC) is a dedicated, high productivity intermodal cargo facility offering life cycle savings built on a Greenfield site to meet the ideal specifications of customers and tenants. This is an intercontinental complex, not a regional airport. The Louisiana Airport Authority’s vision is a bold and innovative transportation infrastructure plan designed to meet the long-term transportation needs of southern Louisiana and combines multi modes of transportation: air, surface, ocean and rail to a central distribution, logistics and value-added/just-in-time manufacturing complex.
The LTC will serve as an economic engine for the region, creating a magnet for economic development within Louisiana. The LTC will attract new cargo and business to the state; create a new pool of jobs and sustainable employment; and enhance existing Louisiana business and commerce with the opportunity to distribute Louisiana products around the world.
