Paul Craig

Paul Craig is Professor of Engineering Emeritus at UC Davis. He was trained as a physicist (CalTech) and did research at Los Alamos and Brookhaven National Laboratories.During the oil embargos of the 1970s he worked in DC the Office of the President's Science Advisor.

His teaching at UC Davis emphasized simple explanations of how things work, and how to formulate critical questions about what might go wrong. How do you know your computer program is working right? What are the environmental downsides of wind and solar? He received a Presidential Appointment to the Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board, where he examined environmental issues relating to the proposed Yucca Mountain high level nuclear waste repository.
