Federal and State Policy Impacts on Combined Heat and Power and Waste Heat Recovery | View Presentation »
The presentation looks at both the positive and negative impact that federal and state policy has had on CHP and waste heat recovery project development. PURPA jump started hundreds of projects while the Energy Policy Act of 2005 literally stopped development in its tracks. However, as we look forward, the electric utility generation industry has begun a significant transition due primarily to EPA regulations that will change the supply mix and potentially create an opportunity for greater use of CHP and waste heat recovery projects. The presentation will also review what states are doing to incentivize projects.
