Robert
S. Reimers is a professor in
the Department of Environmental
Health Sciences at Tulane University
School of Public Health and
Tropical Medicine. Dr. Reimers
received a B.A. in Chemistry
from Cornell College, a M.A.
in Chemistry from the University
of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D.
in engineering from Vanderbilt
University. He is the author
of 48 refereed journals, 27
published reports and 77 proceedings
and non-refereed articles.

the past few years, there have
been concerns related to the
processing of biosolids for
beneficial use. Material in
this paper will be incorporate
information recently released
in the National Academy of Sciences
study on EPA's 503 regulations.
This paper will elucidate these
concerns with respect to pathogens,
odors, vector attraction, metals
and organics. This discussion
will cover the various biosolids
process schemes and the resulting
perceived risks related to South
Louisiana.
