Cataloging Statistics

Statistics are kept for every title and unit catalogued. They are generally captured with a program run on the 948 field.

For the following categories of materials, in addition to providing a 948 field, you need to record statistics manually:

• Microforms

  E.g.      microfilm

              microfiche

• Electronic materials

  E.g.      electronic journals

              other Internet documents

              CD-ROMS

• Audiovisual formats -- except audio CDs

  E.g.      sound recordings

              videotapes

Units column:  The "Units" column should be filled in for all monographs and serial adds catalogued.   Put the total number of volumes and copies.

Do not mark units for Internet documents or for any periodicals.
