The Fall Lecture

Each fall semester the Alpha of Louisiana Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa hosts the Fall Lecture. This lecture features a member of the chapter who uses the occasion to discuss how the ideals of Phi Beta Kappa - freedom of inquiry and how 'the love of learning is the guide of life' - influences their research.

The 2023 Fall Lecture was delivered by Kenneth W. Harl, Professor Emeritus of History. Dr. Harl spoke about his recent book, Empires of the Steppes: A History of the Nomadic Tribes Who Shaped Civilization.
