- All residence hall rooms on the Uptown campus are equipped to receive cable television. Using a standard coaxial cable (also called an RF cable), simply connect your cable ready television to the CATV wall outlet. The instructions that come with your television will detail this process. If you are using a VCR or converter box as your tuner, connect it to the CATV wall outlet, and then connect this to your television.
If you experience difficulties connecting your cable, you can call the TUCAN Help Line at ext. 8888, or send an e-mail message to tucan@tulane.edu. Return to Top -

- Most new, cable-ready televisions must be switched to "Cable TV" (or "CATV") and then programmed in order to receive all the channels of a cable system. Read the manual that came with your television to see how to do this. If your television is not cable-ready, you will probably need a cable converter box to tune the entire cable lineup
